Boston Embarrasses Cavs in Game 1

Oh what a day it is ladies and gentlemen. The Boston Celtics absolutely demolished the LeFlop-led Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1, winning 108-83, in a game that was never in doubt after the opening tip.

Jaylen Brown led the C’s in scoring with 23 points, while the LeBron-destroyer Marcus Morris led the way on the defensive side of the ball by shutting down the fraud king, holding him to just 2 baskets in 24 plays.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, who stated before the game that LeBron and the Cavs would be “too much” for the Celtics to handle, admitted that the alleged “king” looked “lethargic” and was essentially nonexistent in Sunday’s contest. Stephen A. followed up that take with a Twitter video pointing out that LeBron was complete garbage in the game, with a -32 plus/minus and only 15 points. Smith even asked why James “even bothered to show up.”

LeBron’s response to his utter humiliation was that he’s not worried after the blowout defeat because the NBA Playoffs are “not March Madness.” He also stated that he had a “zero” level of concern, which is particularly interesting since there is absolutely no reason for optimism when it comes to the Cavs’ chances in this series. Of course, the ESPN tagline on the video was “LeBron James shows off impeccable memory by reciting the play-by-play for several possessions and expresses his lack of concern going down 1-0.” Over at the declining sports network that is ESPN, they love to praise LeBron James for everything and anything, whether it be his “impeccable memory” for remembering a few plays or LeBron’s alleged perfection of strategically resting during games, but that’s another story for another day.

My overall takeaway from Game 1 is that my prediction of Celtics in 5 is looking extremely less crazy, which is fantastic, and while the Cavs certainly still have a shot in the series, I really think the C’s will take it in either 5 or 7 games. If Boston can win Game 2 and then steal one in Cleveland--which is very possible--I think a Game 5 W is an absolute lock. If that doesn’t happen, it’ll probably be because both teams won their home games and we end up with a Game 7 in Boston, which I would feel very confident about as a Celtics fan.

Let’s now take some time to appreciate what this Celtics team has done without its two best players: Boston is 3 games away from handing LeBron James his most embarrassing loss ever. What a time to be alive, folks.
