Greatest Franchises in European Football History

HA! You gullible soccer fans actually thought you were clicking on a soccer blog. NOPE! Here we have the Top 5 Franchises in European (American) Football History:

5. Helsinki Roosters

Ever since the Helsinki Roosters won Euro Bowl II, defeating Amsterdam 35-14, they have been absolute legends. Since their founding in 1979, these guys have been the kings of Finnish Football. You might say, “Scott, they have only won one Euro Bowl,” and that is true, but please gentlemen, don’t ignore their 20 Vaahteraliiga titles.

4. Milano Seamen

I’ll let this one speak for itself.

3. Düsseldorf Panther

No, that’s not a typo. This franchise is called the Panther. Not Panthers, just Panther. Isn’t that something? Well, I believe that it is. In fact, their bold name choice is enough on its own to put them in the top 5. Also helping their case is the franchise’s Euro Bowl win in 1995, as well as six German Bowl titles.

2. New Yorker Lions

The New Yorker Lions are 5x Euro Bowl Champions, with their first coming in 1999 and their latest in 2017, successfully completing the vaunted “three-peat.” They also have 11 German Bowl titles and five more title game appearances. What may be the best thing about this group is that they call themselves the “New Yorker Lions” even though they’re from Braunschweig, Germany.

1. Vienna Vikings

A strong case can be made that the Vienna Vikings are Europe’s version of the New England Patriots. In fact, Vienna has won (5) and reached (10) the same number of Euro Bowls as the Patriots have Super Bowls. They have been the most dominant American football team in Europe during the 21st century.

Honorable Mentions:

Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns

Swarco Raiders Tirol

La Courneuve Flash

Frankfurt Universe
