An Open Letter to Danny Amendola

Dear Danny,

Thank you. Thank you for taking pay cut after pay cut to help this team win. Thank you for enduring countless skull-shaking blows as you put your body on the line running crossing routes and returning punts. Thank you for showing up to every press conference, interview, and public appearance in a professional manner that personified the Patriot Way. Thank you for being Tom Brady’s safety net, go-to guy, and most reliable target when Gronk and Jules were sidelined with injuries. Thank you for being the heartthrob of every man, woman, and child in New England. Thank you for showing up again and again in the playoffs, delivering a multitude of iconic clutch performances. Who could forget when you gave us that highlight reel, Antonio Brown-esque toe-tap in the 2017 AFC Championship Game? Or your 81-yard, 2-touchdown effort in the 2014 Divisional Round against Baltimore? Or your touchdown catches in Super Bowl 49 and 50 (not to mention the game-tying two point conversion against the Falcons)? Or your Herculean effort in Super Bowl 52, when you went for 8 receptions and 152 yards? Playoff freaking Danny. Every time we called on you, you stood up and showed out in force. For that, Patriots Nation is forever indebted to you.

We wish you luck on your time with the Dolphins; you’re finally getting the paycheck you deserve. So enjoy the warm weather, take your money, and go get what’s yours. Danny, you are forever in our hearts.

Sincerely,

Patriots Nation

You da man, Danny.

Honestly Dola..... The 13th was my b-day and finding out that you left put a huge damper into my day! You have been such a clutch player for the Patriots every time you were needed. Not to mention all the pay cuts you took just to stay with us! I'm sad to see you go and I hope you come back and help us win another! Thank you Danny and I know I won't be the only one that misses you!!!
